Meredith Peterson is a respected legislative and government relations professional with more than a decade of experience at the county, state and federal levels. Upon graduating from New Mexico State University, Meredith worked for the New Mexico State Senate and for the Dona Ana County Office of Emergency Management. Meredith spent more than five years in Washington, D.C. where she served on the legislative and senior staff for Senator Pete V. Domenici, as his communications manager and, later, his executive assistant and scheduler. During that time, she also volunteered her time on the Bush/Cheney presidential campaign.
In 2003, she accepted a position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ South Pacific Division as their strategic relationships coordinator, where she was responsible for identifying and implementing strategic relationship engagement strategies for senior leadership with state, federal, and non-governmental organizations. She was a key member of several agency teams, including Public Affairs, to advise and help craft strategic communications regarding high profile projects and during emergency response situations. She is a recipient of the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.
In addition to her professional experience, Meredith volunteered for more than ten years in various capacities for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Family Readiness Program providing resources and support to families, especially during times of deployment.
She is actively serving the Semper Fi Fund and Americas Fund, identifying and addressing the myriad needs and issues of wounded military service members.
Meredith is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business and Policy, and is a graduate of the Marine Corps’ Leadership Education Seminar.
